Children's Ministry

Mission & Philosophy

The purpose of Saint Andrew’s children’s ministry is to help parents fulfill their covenantal role as the primary educators of their children in all matters of faith (Deut. 6:6-7). Our goal is not to supplant the parents’ responsibility but rather to provide supplementary teaching that will reinforce what they are learning at home. We celebrate the fact that God has given the church teachers who faithfully serve every Lord’s Day morning in Sunday school and Wednesday Bible Club. You will find in our bookstore valuable resources to help you in your endeavor to raise your children in a way that brings glory to God.

We believe that learning God’s Word is the primary way for us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We also believe that it is good for the children and their families to be active together with the wider covenant family—the church. Please see the Church Calendar to remain informed about upcoming events.

It is our desire to provide a healthy and safe environment for all the children at church. Please view our Sick Child Policy for more information.

Sunday Mornings

Nursery Care (ages 2 and under) is offered during both worship services. The nursery is located at the north end of the fellowship hall building.

Tender Care: (3-4 year olds) meets in the Tender Care room (located adjacent to the nursery). All children must be signed in by parents.

Children are always welcome and encouraged to be in the service, but we offer Tender Care (3-4 years old) as a help to those who are transitioning their child from the nursery. Your child is not required to attend Tender Care, but we recognize that some parents need help during this developmental period in their child’s life. The Tender Care ministry is available to you. As you are preparing to have your family together every Lord’s Day, let us recommend a very helpful book entitled Parenting in the Pew by Robbie Castleman, available in our bookstore. Many parents here at Saint Andrew’s have testified to the impact this book has had on their lives as a worshiping family.

Wednesday Evenings

Children (Grades K-5) meet in classrooms 5, 6, and 7 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. for Bible Club. All children must be signed in by parents. We meet from September – May with holiday breaks. Please see the Church Calendar for dates.

Bible Club focuses on missions locally, nationally, and internationally. We incorporate Bible study, videos, as well as missionaries from various groups visiting our classes to share God’s work.

Our Bible Club runs concurrently with Youth Group (ages 12-18) that meets in the Fellowship Hall.
